A compact week in Slovenia without rushing the kids.
This route deliberately leaves out parts of Slovenia. The point is to use the country’s short distances to create four useful family bases, not to turn seven days into seven check-ins.
Days 1–2 · Bled / Lesce
Start with either River Camping Bled for a heated pool and adventure playground or Camping Šobec for its lake, water play and several playgrounds. Use the first afternoon as a recovery block rather than attaching a major attraction to arrival.
Day 3 · Bohinj
Move to Camp Danica Bohinj. Keep the day light: river time, cycling, a short lake outing or an easy family activity. If the weather turns, the indoor sports hall gives you more flexibility than a remote nature-only stop.
Days 4–5 · Soča valley / Kobarid
Base at Camp Rut. Give the region two nights so that one day can be built around the river and a short walk rather than packing and driving again. Choose the road into the valley based on your camper, current road conditions and driver comfort — do not treat a high mountain pass as compulsory.
Day 6 · Postojna
Drive toward the Karst and park at Postojna Cave Motorhome Parking. The cave entrance is only about 250 metres away, so Postojna Cave becomes an unusually easy family attraction day with the camper left in place.
Day 7 · Keep it flexible
Use the final day for your exit direction rather than adding another mandatory destination. If the weather has already cost you a mountain day, spend the morning where the children were happiest. If you are continuing east, Camping Menina is a strong next base for a longer trip.
If you have 9–10 days
Choose one extension rather than adding everything. Add Ljubljana for Zoo + House of Experiments, the coast for Camping Adria Ankaran, or a thermal reset at Camp Natura / Terme Čatež. Each option changes the character of the trip more than squeezing in one more famous viewpoint.
